Fort Lauderdale
Beginner yoga in Fort Lauderdale.
Starting yoga as a complete beginner can feel intimidating, especially in a crowded room. At Infinite Yoga®, classes are structured so you never have to worry about flexibility, speed, or fitting in. You are guided through fundamental shapes, proper breathing techniques, and alignment foundations step by step.
Every pose has a version for where you are today. Props, modifications, and hands-off options are always available, and you will not be adjusted without being asked first. The pace is unhurried, the language is plain, and nothing in class is mandatory. You can rest whenever your body asks for it, and you can step out without explanation.
For new students, the Vinyasa Foundations five-part series, covering Alignment, Strength, Balance, Core, and Inversions, offers a clear roadmap to building a resilient practice. You can take the modules in order or pick the ones you need most. It is about $40 a session, booked through Prana. You can read more about Sara Grossman, who has welcomed beginners into trauma-informed studio and online spaces since 2007.
Studio classes take place at Prana Hot Yoga and Bodyworks on SE 17th St. Yin runs Monday and Wednesday at 6:30 pm, and Heated Vinyasa Flow is Friday at 6:30 pm. There is also a live Monday morning Zoom class at 9 am Eastern, which is a gentle way to start if a studio room feels like too much right now.
You do not need to be flexible. Flexibility is a result of practice, not a requirement for it. You need a mat if you have one, water, and clothes you can move in. Mats and props are available at the studio. If you are nervous, that is normal, and a 15-minute call with Sara before your first class is a good way to settle in.
Your first class is free, so the only thing you are spending is an hour. Tell Sara when you arrive that you are new, and she will keep an eye on you the whole time. Fill in one short form and she texts you within the hour with the location or Zoom link and what to bring.
